Saving Private Nilund ?

HOLLYWOOD - The blockbuster hit movie, Saving Private Ryan, was 'somewhat' based on a true story.

The Niland brothers were four siblings who all served in the US Army during World War II. It was believed that three of the brothers, Robert, Preston, and Edward were killed in action prompting the US Army to ship the remaining brother, Fritz back to the US.

Surprisingly, Edward, who was originally thought dead, was actually found alive after escaping a Japanese prison camp in Burma, making two surviving brothers out of the four who fought in the war.
